A gift that keeps on giving

Six years ago, Rita and Ashok* got married in a room full of their friends and family in Mumbai. Their wedding was filled with blessings and joy, and they flew off to Koh Samui to celebrate their honeymoon.

Rita and Ashok are just like the thousands of couples who get married every day. However, there was one big difference.

Giving back was important to both of them. Music and sports were a big part of their lives, and they wanted to make this special occasion even more special by making these causes a part of the most important day of their lives. They each picked a charity they liked, and set up a Charity Registry for their wedding together. They asked their loved ones to donate to a cause close to their heart instead of giving them wedding gifts. All of the contributions were then divided equally between the two NGOs.
