These students need your help.
The lockdown has necessitated a move to the virtual world for work and study. While the shift has been a boon in many cases, it has brought many challenges to those less privileged. Those with limited access to gadgets, internet and electricity find themselves falling behind. Students have reduced their hours of study since they are using a parent’s phone, or may have limited internet access to download material.
The students in Light of Life Trust’s programs in Rajasthan and Maharashtra are on the verge of writing the crucial Board exams. The lockdown has meant a disrupted school schedule, and many of them are finding it hard to keep up with academics while being at home.
LoLT’s Anando program helps underprivileged rural children, many of whom are first-generation learners complete their secondary education. They provide the necessary support the students need to complete their education and break out of the cycle of poverty. The students in their Rajasthan centre had an 86% pass rate in the SSC exam last year, with over 95% of girl students clearing the exam! The students in school serve as role models to other children in their area, challenging limitations and paving new paths for all.
Help these students shine instead of merely getting by. Light of Life Trust is raising funds to buy tablets for the students in their education centres.
Each tablet costs Rs 8,500/-, and will be shared by 5 students in time.
The tablets will mean that the students can download resources when
internet is available, and continue to study even when internet or
electricity is disrupted. Help them study for longer and without the
constraints they are already facing.
