Annadhan: What is left is not over!
We all wonder what to do with the many possessions we accumulate over the years. Here's an option to consider – donation! Annadhan is a voluntary organisation that lives by the motto 'what is left is not over'. Their team of volunteers picks up unused and uneaten leftovers from large parties and redistributes them to hungry citizens across the city of Mumbai. This summer, they also collected utilities like clothes, bags, bedsheets and utensils for those in need.
The Utility Drive was the first non-food drive conducted by Annadhan. The team got an overwhelming response from contributors across the city – from Thane to Churchgate to Mira Road.
It started in Mahim at 9:30 am on Sunday, 28th May and concluded at a construction site in Oshiwara at 2:20 pm with a strength of 11 volunteers.
From clothes to gumboots, 750 people of every age group and gender seemed very happy and content on receiving the utilities.
Annadhan will be conducting the drive on a quarterly basis hereon.
